About Me

I started caregiving by taking care of my family members, both young and old. I love to take care of people and be there for them in difficult situations. I like the people I get to work with and I like to help them to be happy human beings. I build good relationships with my clients, as well as their families. I am a very responsible and hardworking caregiver. I am very friendly and outgoing. I never make my client feel alone especially when they are going through trying times. I am very caring and attentive to my clients. I am also very jovial. I always keep my clients engaged by having conversations with them, watching television, listening to music together, taking a stroll outdoors when the weather permits, and also playing their choice of games. My hobbies include singing, listening to music, painting, and traveling.

Recommendations

Natia took care of my parents for about two and a half months from January-March 2017. She integrated well into the family and my parents both appreciated her pleasant personality and caring demeanor. She took very good care of my mother who was bedridden, helping her with washing, dressing, toileting and preparing special light meals for her. Natia also accompanied her to all her doctor appointments and treatments. She also organized my father's complicated medications for him and reminded him to take them, plus she made and served light meals. Natia did the dishes, helped clean the house, and did all my parents' laundry. She was very dedicated to my parents and was always available to them and checking on their needs. Natia is responsible, caring, conscientious, and kind, and has a friendly and nice personality. I would highly recommend her to any family needing elder care.

In 2015, my aunt broke her hip and after six weeks of rehabilitation, it was apparent that she would not be able to walk again. Natia was hired to provide 24-hour care, including cooking, house cleaning, and personal care. Natia would transfer my aunt to and from wheelchair, stair lift, and bed and as my aunt's physical condition deteriorated Natia employed a Hoyer lift to make transfers easier. Along with my aunt's physical deterioration, she was diagnosed with Alzheimer's/dementia. My aunt became increasingly paranoid and verbally abusive at times, and it would be difficult for me to stay in the house. Throughout this time, Natia remained completely calm and kind, and never became upset. She always treated my aunt with the gentlest of hands. As my work and family would often take me out of state, it was a great comfort to know my aunt was so well cared for. Without any reservation, I recommend Natia to anyone who needs a caregiver.

Natia was employed full time from July 2013 to August 2014 as my 88-year-old mother's live-in caregiver. My mother was disabled from rheumatoid arthritis and needed much personal care. Natia assisted my mother with bathing, dressing, toileting, mobility, and transfers. She did this with much patience and physical gentleness, ever mindful of my mother's frailty and painful condition. Natia prepared the weekly grocery shopping list as well as their daily breakfast and lunch. She escorted my mother to dinners with her friends and attempted to ensure that my mother was eating well. In addition, Natia was responsible for medication and vitamin reminders. She also accompanied my mom to her medical and personal appointments. Natia was responsible for laundry and light housekeeping, and kept her small apartment neat and clean. Natia performed her tasks with great skill, efficiency, and cheerfulness. Natia was a wonderful companion for my mother, attempting to meet her every need even when those needs might not be expressed. Natia's pleasant personality and sense of humor contributed much to their daily interactions. As great as all of these successfully completed tasks and responsibilities are, a major component of Natia's success in this position is the peace of mind that she allowed my sister and me to feel. We knew that Natia was responsible, organized, very competent, and caring, and that our mother was safe in Natia's care. We absolutely trusted Natia to do everything within her power to ensure that our mother was receiving very high quality care and was accessing all of the services that allowed her to remain in her home. My sister and I strongly agree that Natia performed all of the roles and responsibilities of a live-in home caregiver in a highly qualified manner and we are pleased to recommend her highly.
