About Me

I was born in Toga in western Africa and I moved to the United States in 2013. As a young girl, I was always taking care of my brothers and sisters. Becoming a nurse was always my dream. I have been working as a caregiver since I moved to the United States. I have an Associate's degree and I am am a certified Home Health Aide. Through training and job experience, I can assist patients living with Alzheimer's, dementia, stroke, diabetes and more, as well as with all activities with daily living. I enjoy preparing delicious healthy meals to my clients' satisfaction. I love listening to my clients stories and talking with them about current events. In my spare time, I watch movies, cook African food, and travel when I can.

Recommendations

With great pleasure, I recommend Abire as an exceptional caregiver wholeheartedly. During Abire's tenure as a live-in caregiver to my 76-year-old mother, who has been facing a courageous battle with cancer, I witnessed unprecedented dedication, compassion, and professionalism. My mother's journey with cancer was an incredibly challenging period with emotional ups and downs. She required continuous care, numerous hospital visits, medical treatments, and emotional support. Abire was not just a caregiver; she became an integral part of our family support system -- and a friend. Her exceptional qualities became evident from the moment she joined us. Abire stands out in many ways. She is a very friendly companion with a positive attitude who actively listens and supports. Abire consistently displayed genuine care and dedication towards my mother. She attended to all her physical needs and emotional support, which was invaluable during such a difficult time. We found Abire to be well-versed in providing medical assistance and helping my mother adhering to complex medication schedules. Her skills included ensuring my mother took prescribed medications on schedule, filling her prescriptions at the pharmacy, monitoring vital signs, and promptly reporting any concerning symptoms or changes in her health. Her attention to detail ensured that my mother received the best possible care. Abire assisted with various daily activities, including but not limited to bathing, dressing, exercising, mobility, and daily walking. In addition, Abire went over and above to efficiently manage all household chores, including laundry, ensuring that the home remained a clean, “germ free,” and comfortable environment for my mother. She maintained a balanced diet, which was vital for recovery and overall well-being. Abire shopped and cooked nutritious meals aligned with my mother's dietary restrictions or recommendations. She also monitored her blood sugar levels and kept charts. Abire maintained clear and effective communication with my mother and me with regular updates and any changes in her care plan. It is also essential to note that Abire communicated 100% daily with my mother, did not engage in personal phone calls or social media while working, and was passionate about my mother's care. I have the utmost confidence in Abire's abilities and character. She is an extremely pleasant and respectful person, who exceeded our expectations in every aspect of caregiving. We ended up keeping Abire employed for much longer than needed due to her unwavering commitment. Abire is an exceptional caregiver, and I do not doubt that she will significantly and positively impact any caregiving role she takes on. She is a true asset, and I am confident she will continue to comfort and support those in need.

Abire worked for me for five months until November 2022 and my husband and I have been very happy with her. She is very caring and thinks about what she is doing. She was a 24/7 live-in caregiver who helped me with all of my needs -- bathing, dressing, meals, driving -- while I was undergoing treatment for cancer. We have really enjoyed having her with us and know that you will be happy with her. She is honest and pays attention. We really love her.

Abi filled in for one of my mother's caregivers for a few months in late 2020. We liked her so much that we hired her back in April 2021, and she took immaculate care of my elderly mother until November 2021 when mom was hospitalized and then moved to a nursing facility. My mother loved Abi's companionship. Abi was very loving, caring, thoughtful, and most of all, respectful. I felt at ease know my mother was in Abi's care. She worked four days each week, eight hours each day. My mother had bad knees, a troublesome back, and fluid in her lungs. Most of the time, she used a walker. Abi got my mother out of bed, helped her shower and dress, prepared meals, did light housekeeping and medication reminders. When she saw mom needed something, she'd stop by the store on her way home and bring it in with her the next day. I know how much my mom appreciated the times when Abi sat and talked with her. Other aides just sat in the corner and helped, but didn't interact with mom like Abi did. I highly recommend her for any caregiving position.

In the summer of 2020, I hired Abi to care for my mother, who lived with me. On her first day, she watched carefully as I prepared lunch for mom, so that she could do it exactly the way my mother liked. She was very caring and attentive to my mother's needs and they had a wonderful relationship. In fact, my mother was teaching Abi some Spanish, and they sang some Spanish songs together. Abi worked three days a week, from 9 am to 5 pm until February 2021. She was always at work on time and I felt very comfortable leaving the apartment when she was there, both because I trusted her and because I trusted her with mom. She helped my mother shower and dress, fixed lunch, and kept mom's room clean. I feel that Abi will be an asset to anyone who hires her.
