About Me

I became a caregiver in Africa where the oldest child has to be ready to take care of the rest of the kids until they grow up. I took care of my grandmom and found that I loved old people. When I came to this country, I wanted to continue doing what I was good at. I learn a lot from my patients. My patients would say that I'm loving, caring, and easy-going. I like to go on the Internet to try to learn new things and to watch movies. I love to cook and I love to clean. It makes me feel great when people comment on how clean and well cared for my clients are. I am also interested in working with special needs children. I have a lot of experience with children in Africa, and some experience since I've been in the United States, too.

Recommendations

I am a power of attorney for a client and Latifa worked with the client of mine as a live-in caregiver for more than a year until 2019. My client had no family. Latifa was reliable, took excellent care of my client, drove her to shopping and appointments, and kept her home in order. She knew when something was amiss with my client's condition and she appropriately took her to the hospital when the need arose. The client had many caregivers over the years, but she really liked and trusted Latifa.

Latifa was a caregiver for my father from the end of 2012 until June 2013. My dad is quite old and he has lots of long-winded stories. We are not always enthusiastic about hearing them again, but Latifa was a willing and wonderful listener. She was also polite, punctual, and honest. She followed our instructions, and worked without supervision, as we were at our own jobs while she was with our father. When we had a schedule change, she was very flexible. Latifa cooked for him and helped him with his medication; he is a diabetic. She took him for walks and accompanied him to doctor appointments. My father moved to Florida, but if we had the opportunity, we would certainly hire Latifa again.

I am a Certified Nurse Aide myself, and I had to go to to Africa for three months while my wife was pregnant and on bed rest in early 2012. Latifa came and stayed with my wife while I was away. She looks skinny and delicate but she is very strong! She helped my wife with personal hygiene, took her to doctor appointments, and cooked and cleaned. She can do any task you give her. She was like a mother to my wife, even though my wife is older than Latifa.

Latifa babysat for my daughter for about 15 months in 2012-13. She did child care & laundry and took my three-year-old daughter on outings. She was very reliable and a good worker. She was able to follow directions but also took initiative when appropriate. Latifa has very good interpersonal skills and is respectful and honest. My daughter loved listening to her stories and going to the park with her. I would hire her again without question.
