About Me

I was born and raised in the Dominican Republic. I came to the United States in 1993, and in 2010, I started my career as a caregiver. I received my Home Health Aide license and I started working privately with patients. I'm a friendly person, and I like to talk with my patients. I like to understand their needs and what they want from me. The most important thing is that the client feels comfortable with me. I like to ask them how they like things done and make sure that I do things for them the way that the like. I like to give my female clients manicures and do make-up for them if they'd like. I like to make sure that they are clean and look good. I like to listen to my patients. I am the type of person who will have a conversation with you and if you want to be left alone I will go about my business. I also make sure to never bring my outside life to work with me. In my spare time, I like to walk and exercise, go shopping, and relax in my living room and listen to music. I have four children and one granddaughter and I love to spend time with my family when I can.

Recommendations

Maria provided care for my grandmother in 2013. My grandmother is now deceased but I will forever be grateful for the tender loving care that Maria provided to her. Maria cared for my grandmother who had Alzheimer’s disease. My family needed to work and we needed a caregiver we could trust. She provided personal care and companionship for my grandmother. She was patient, compassionate, and kind, and this really impressed me. Her duties included cooking, light cleaning of my grandmother’s area, and providing personal care. If I had to describe Maria, I would say that she is a kind, dedicated, and hardworking person.

Maria cared for my grandmother from December 2009 until November 2011. My grandmother was diagnosed with dementia. Maria assisted her with activities of daily living such as personal care, grooming, bathing and assisting with meals and redirection. Maria is very caring and empathetic. She treated my grandmother like she was caring for her own family. She is a very dedicated person and she enjoys caring for people who cannot care for themselves.
