About Me

In Kenya, I worked as a secretary in Mission Hospital. I used to interact with the caregivers and the patients and that is where I became interested in the field. When I came to the United States in 2003, I decided to do my training to become a licensed Home Health Aide as well as a Certified Nurse Aide. When I see myself making my clients' faces light up, I get joy and satisfaction. I especially love, after caring for a patient, if a patient gets stronger and healthier because that makes me so proud. I have a lot of patience and respect, and I honor the rights of the people I care for. I'm trustworthy because all my clients have trusted me with their houses and their parents. I like cooking for my patients, and I like my patients to be kept very clean. I clean their environment and make it safe for them at all times. Some hobbies of mine include swimming and going to the gym. I also enjoy reading the Bible and reading novels.

Recommendations

Margaret cared for my parents from August 2004 until my father's death in August 2006. When she came, my mother was suffering from Alzheimer's and could not be left alone. Margaret was primarily caring for mom, and when mom passed away, she stayed on and cared for dad, who by then was suffering from dementia as well. She lived in their home full time and did everything except fill their pill boxes. My father trusted her. He knew he needed help with "Mother" and then he trusted her for his own care also. My parents have been gone for over 9 years and there is not a day that goes by that I don't thank my lucky stars for Margaret. She is honest, caring, and professional. We had other caregivers and there is no comparison. My sister and I trusted her completely. I lived a few minutes from my parents, and would visit unannounced. The house was always tidy, my parents were always clean and well cared for. Margaret loves what she does, even though it's a very difficult job. She embraced my parents' situation like she was their friend and was always wonderful to them and the rest of our family. She made my life easy and we still keep in touch.

Margaret took care of my mother from January 2014 to December 2015, almost two years. The beginning when Margaret started was rough. My mother didn't think she needed any assistance and was not very nice to Margaret. Margaret handled my mother's mood changes gracefully and with great patience. She knew that with Alzheimer's, these things happen. She learned how to cook my mother's favorite meal and I know my mother loved her. She was a great support for me and a wonderful partner in managing my mother's care. She was there every step of the way with me. When my mother was in the hospital and then in rehab, Margaret made sure my mother had everything she needed, and she kept me informed of how she was when I couldn't be there. I trusted her and knew she was a great support for my mother. Everybody knew Margaret and when I wasn't around, all the nurses and aides would tell me how wonderful she was with my mother. My mother grew very fond of Margaret and I am very grateful for having a caregiver like Margaret help me through the tough moments we had. I trusted her and I knew my mother was in the best hands. I had such peace of mind and highly recommend her without a doubt.
