My long-time friend had no immediate family and he and I looked after each other. When he began developing signs of dementia in early 2013 and it was clear that he couldn't live alone, I hired Nana to come help out. At first, Nana came for a few hours a day, but soon we needed him to move in. He cared for my friend 24/7 until his death in November 2015. Nana was a wonderful caregiver. He shopped, cooked, and cleaned. He drove my friend to the doctor and dentist when I wasn't available. He took it upon himself to do what needed to be done. Nana is a really good cook . He prepared well-balanced meals and always had a bowl of fresh fruit on the table and a glass of water with a straw in it. My friend's clothing was always clean, the carpet vacuumed, and the house tidy. Nana is a big guy and can seem scary when you first meet him, but he is the kindest and most gentle man. He would always ask me about my grandchildren and tell me about his children. Nana is physically strong and was able to pick up my friend and move him when necessary. At one point, he mentioned that it was time to move my friend's bedroom downstairs to the first floor. I couldn't imagine how to make that happen, but Nana took the furniture apart, carried it downstairs and reassembled the bedroom, including the pictures on the wall. When appliances needed fixing, he took care of getting the repairs done. He was completely trustworthy. I gave him a credit card, and the receipts were always left in a neat pile for me. I appreciated that Nana stayed in close touch with me, and let me know about the changes he noticed in my friend. My friend had a prickly personality when he was well, and the dementia exacerbated that. Nana understood that it was not something he should take personally. In sum, Nana is a nurturing, kind, good person and wonderful caregiver and I absolutely would recommend him 100%. He does the whole job.

Nana was my father's caregiver for three years of from 2011-2014. My father had dementia and needed help and guidance with everything. I can confidently say Nana was an excellent caregiver. He got to know my father so well and knew every detail and what he needed. He was a great cook and my father loved his food. He is a very patient man yet stern when my father got stubborn. He managed to make sure he took his medicine and ate his food. Nana is very kind and understanding. He is really just an all-around nice guy. We were very happy to have him and I am sure the next family he works for will be just as happy.
