About Me

I love taking care of the elderly. I'm a very patient, compassionate, and caring person. I'm also very honest and trustworthy. My husband is a medical doctor, and I have worked with him before back in Nigeria. When we came to America, I decided that I wanted to take care of seniors. I like to take my clients out to the library, clubs, doctor appointments, or just meet with their friends. I do my best to take care of their needs. We sometimes play games together, and we have fun together. For fun, I like to watch the news, read, and play games. I'm happily married, and I have four children.

Mercy has truly been a blessing to our family for the past nine months. There are not enough wonderful things to say about Mercy. We had the privilege of having her work with my dad after my mom got sick and eventually passed away. My dad is 82 with memory loss and can have his moments. Mercy was extremely patient and kind to my dad. She made sure he had breakfast, lunch, and dinner. She also made sure to give him his medication and eye drops. She helped him figure out his wardrobe and took care of the laundry for him. Mercy called my dad every morning to let him know she was on her way and communicated with us for anything that my dad needed or if there was something that we needed to address with him. Anything we asked of Mercy, she happily accommodated us, which comforted my family by knowing my dad was being taken care of when we were unable to do so. My dad moved to assisted living in November 2022, so Mercy's services were no longer needed, but I would recommend Mercy unconditionally.

Mercy has been a wonderful part-time aide from April to December 2021 for my mom who is 89 and has dementia issues. She took her out shopping, to lunch, and to the beauty parlor during the week and provided companionship and assistance with her daily living tasks. Mercy was great about communicating with me about my mom’s sometimes stubborn behavior and negotiating with her so that they could go out each day. Mercy was also good about scheduling and was flexible on hours if we needed her to work a little later or earlier, or even on some weekends. Mercy also continued to visit my mom in rehab almost daily just prior to her going into assisted living. I highly recommend Mercy.

The whole process of my sister dying was made so much easier thanks to the presence of our wonderful caregiver, who helped with a variety of home health aide tasks from January to May 2018, Mercy. Her skill, calm demeanor, and gentle manner were comforting not only to my sister, but to all the family members who were present during the last weeks of her life. I truly believe Mercy cared deeply for my sister and I know my sister felt the same about Mercy. We all did.

Mercy is as honest as the day is long. She cared for my beloved mother for three and a half years, from June 2008 until February 2011. She is very intuitive and really sees the big picture. Mercy took care of all of my mom's personal needs including taking her to doctors, food shopping, pharmacy runs, and errands. She kept the house in order and was a wonderful companion. Mercy is such a friendly and warm person. My 89-year-old mother suffered from Alzheimer's disease and ovarian cancer. Mercy was so calming and patient with mom. I have no doubt in my mind that mom wouldn't have survived as long as she did without Mercy caring for her. They had a lovely relationship, and she and mom saw eye to eye on so many things. We are so grateful to have had her care for my mom, and we honestly feel that she is is part of our family and love her dearly. Anyone would be lucky to have Mercy care for their loved ones.

Mercy cared for my elderly parents from September 2011 until September 2013. She came in daily for five hours a day to clean, cook, and do their laundry. During Hurricane Sandy they were without power for 10 days. Mercy literally kept them alive. She brought her camping stove, prepared them food, and made sure that they were keeping warm. Mercy was a godsend. She is a trustworthy, friendly, and compassionate person. My parents were not easy people to deal with, but Mercy did everything she could to keep them safe and comfortable. I highly recommend her a caregiver -- she takes care of business.
