About Me

When I was back home in Africa, I owned and ran a pharmacy, and that made me fall in love with taking care of and helping people. I came to the United States in 2002. I started out working as a cable guy, so I can fix almost any TV you have. I then received my home health aide license and started working with clients. I like the joy that I receive when I make someone feel better. I adjust my life to my client's lifestyle. I like to watch TV with my clients, and I can do what they need me to do. I'm very gentle and sincere and I'm an honest and kind person. I also love music -- I play the bass guitar, drums, and a little keyboard, and I like to sing. I also love soccer, watching it and playing.

Gabriel was my husband's caregiver from November 2014-November 2017 when he passed away. My husband had multiple strokes as well as a brain tumor. In the beginning after some of the first strokes, he became like a walking Alzheimer's patient. He would walk around and disconnect alarms and he needed 24/7 supervision. I could not take care of him on my own. Gabriel came to us then and was our 24/7 live-in caregiver. After the next set of strokes my husband had, he was left paralyzed on his right side. After that, my husband needed total care and Gabriel provided that for him, too. Gabriel had to bathe him, change his diaper, change the catheter bag, and assist with exercising. He fed and cooked for my husband, and did everything else in between. My husband had many medications that he had to take throughout the day at specific times. Gabriel would also take my husband to doctor visits, and when I couldn't attend the appointment, Gabriel would fill me in on what the doctor said. With Gabriel around, I was able to get back to work. I knew that my husband was being well taken care of in Gabriel's hands and that kept me at ease. My husband and Gabriel became like best friends. My husband would always ask for Gabriel's help and he requested Gabriel when I offered him something. Gabriel was great to him. They would talk and sing together. Gabriel would play his instruments for my husband, and he loved that. I like to consider Gabriel as a "gentle giant." He's a very tall and strong man, but has such a sweet and gentle personality. Gabriel would be able to get my husband to do things that I never could. He became part of our family and my sons even loved him. Gabriel was a great support system for us, and he stayed with us until the end when we had to put my husband on hospice. Gabriel is simply marvelous in this field of work, and anyone will be so lucky to work with him, just like we were.

My mother and father were still living in their Florida home in 2014, in their 90s. I went down and visited them and decided that they couldn't keep living there on their own anymore. We were in the process of moving them to an independent facility in Florida when my parents got into a bad car accident. My dad suffered from the accident and never really got any better after that. He had some vascular strokes and which led him to also develop some dementia. He was lucid at times and he also had moments of psychosis. It was a very difficult and sad time. We hired Gabriel and it was wonderful. My father had his good days and bad, but my father seemed to like being around Gabriel, who was very gentle with my father. He would hold his hand when he had his outbursts and calm him down from his episodes. He would do anything for us, including lifting my father and transporting him. Gabriel would also prepare foods, and assist with bathing and dressing and medications. Gabriel is warm, passionate, and very patient. He's also a great listener. I have referred Gabriel to many friends and family who needed a caregiver, and I will always recommend his services.
