About Me

I was born in Tbilisi, in the Republic of Georgia. I moved to the United States in the middle of my college years and graduated from Specs Howard School of Media Arts in Michigan. I worked as a video editor and as an instructor at my school. For a few years, I also had my own online show featuring interviews with bands. When my sister moved to the United States in 2016, she came to New York and I wanted to be closer to her so I moved. It has been very difficult to find a well-paying video editing job in New York, though I continue to do it in my free time. Many of my friends were working as caregivers and it seemed like a wonderful profession. I worked with my first client for five years. He had early stage Parkinson's when I started and it progressed through my time with him. By the time of his death, he used a wheelchair and needed me to provide a lot more care. When I'm not caregiving, I enjoy exercising, taking photographs, and playing with my neighbor's pets. I love all kinds of little, cute animals.

Recommendations

My grandfather had Parkinson's and I lived in the house with him and my grandmother. Greg lived with us 24/7 starting in 2017 until my grandfather's death in January 2022. He helped my grandfather with his personal care, including bathing, toileting, shaving, and dressing. Greg is a kind man with a wonderful personality. He's a hard worker and was excellent with my grandfather. He was easy to live with and fun to be around and we all got along well. Greg took my grandfather to appointments and helped with medication. When my grandparents had a wedding out of state, he went with them, and that made it possible for them to attend. I have no hesitation in recommending Greg as an excellent caregiver. Any family would be very lucky to have him.

I hired Greg to provide care for my husband who had just returned from the hospital in January 2022. My husband was placed on hospice care and we wanted him to be comfortable at home. Greg was great for the short time that he worked with my husband. He was very attentive and I think he slept with one ear open to listen if my husband needed something. When my husband passed after three weeks, I continued to hire Greg for six months, since I use a walker and I am not as independent as I would like to be. He helped me with things like accompanying me to doctor visits and meal preparation and he made sure I was safe when I walked. He is cheerful, honest, and willing to do other things like shopping, changing light bulbs, and cleaning. He is a very good person, and although I would love to have kept working with him, I'm not able to do so. I know he will be an asset somewhere else to someone in need.
