About Me

I really love caregiving and that is why I picked it as a profession. I took care of both my mother and grandmother, one had a stroke and the other had Alzheimer's. As a caregiver, I love to laugh and I am very friendly. I love to help, not only when I am at work, but also outside of work. I always help those in need. I make sure my client is getting the necessary care and attention he or she needs. I love to have conversations with my clients and I can get along easily with their family members. I make sure my client is safe and comfortable in their surroundings, especially creating a clutter-free environment to avoid any falls. In my spare time, I love to go to shopping.

Recommendations

My mother had dementia and could not be left alone. Sonia was her caregiver from Monday to Friday, 8 hours a day, from July 2015 until her death in August 2016. Sonia helped with mom's morning routine -- showering, dressing, toileting, and breakfast. Mom had high blood pressure and high cholesterol and so all meals Sonia prepared had to be low sodium and not fried. Mom seemed to like having Sonia around, and I trusted her completely. She was always reliable and on time, and I liked that she was flexible with her time, so if I needed her to change her work schedule, she would try to accommodate me whenever possible. I remember during the summer, on one of the really hot days, my mother got it into her head that she wanted to go to the mall. I was not at all interested in taking her, but Sonia made herself available and took mom shopping. They had a great day. That is just one reason why I am happy to recommend Sonia as a companion and caregiver.

Sonia worked with my husband, who was 90 percent paralyzed. She worked with him on Saturdays and Sundays for 2 years. Sonia would change him, feed him breakfast, and talk to him, which we really appreciated. She would also help get him in our wheelchair accessible van. Sonia was always responsible and kept in constant communication with me. She did everything needed to keep him comfortable and safe. It was a pleasant experience for all. I would recommend her.
