How the Yellow Ribbon Fund Keeps Military Families Together

During this season of thanks and gratitude, LeanOnWe offers annual appreciation and support to those who serve in America's armed forces.

This year, we are highlighting the Yellow Ribbon Fund, which keeps families together while wounded, ill, and injured post-9/11 service members are recovering. The organization provides housing, transportation, family support services, and more. 

Since its inception in 2005, the Yellow Ribbon Fund has served more than 30,000 people from every branch of the U.S. military, following unexpected medical crises.

For example, through its Crossroads Program, service members are provided with rental cars and furnished apartments for patients and their families while their service member receives medical care at Walter Reed National Military Medical Center in Bethesda, MD. There is no cost to the family and according to the group, it "allows families to be together during vital moments when encouragement and hope are most needed."
