Walking to End Alzheimer's

Each September, people come together from around the world for the Walk to End Alzheimer's, which raises awareness about and aims to challenge the stigma that persists around dementia.

Since the start of LeanOnWe, we have been a proud supporter of the Alzheimer's Association by dedicating time, energy, and resources to help find a cure for Alzheimer's disease.

Once again this year, Denise Kuhbier, our senior vice president of care, chairs the Putnam County 2021 Walk to End Alzheimer’s and serves on the board of the Hudson Valley chapter of the Alzheimer’s Association. Denise has led LeanOnWe’s team for the Walk to End Alzheimer's and through her perseverance, we have been the top fundraiser year after year, raising more than $77,526.47 since 2015.

In addition to accelerating global progress toward methods of treatments, preventions, and ultimately, a cure, the Alzheimer’s Association offers families:

• A 24/7 Helpline (800-272-3900) staffed by master’s-level specialists offering confidential support and information.
• The Alzheimer's Navigator, an online tool that helps those facing the disease to determine their needs and create a plan of action.
• A matching service for clinical studies, Alzheimer's Association TrialMatch, that connects those with Alzheimer's, family caregivers, healthy volunteers, and physicians with current studies.

LeanOnWe continues to share and support Denise’s commitment to helping the organization and we pledge to make a donation for every person who donates to this very important effort as we aim to be the No. 1 team again for the 2021 Putnam Valley walk.
