About Me

I am from the Republic of Georgia and came to the United States in 2014. My clients describe me as a kind person who treats everyone like family. I am the only person in my family in this country, and I like to connect and interact with all of my clients. There is nothing I will not do for my clients. For example, a lot of my previous clients had an upset in their internal body clocks. I would engage with them at all hours of the night and make sure they were clean and comfortable, no matter what time of day it was. When I am not working, I like to relax, watch movies, and read books.

My 98-year-old father has balance and short-term memory issues and my 96-year-old mother has mild Parkinson's. They did not want to move out of their home, so in November 2017, we hired Lela to live with them 24/7 and she has been working for two years. My father wakes up in the middle of the night, and that has been a challenge. Lela is caring, attentive and has become especially close to my dad and my family. My mother can be controlling and difficult, but she got used to having Lela around, and Lela has been able to make it work. She is a very good cook, and she did the laundry and light housekeeping, in addition to helping my father with his activities of daily living and providing company for him. I live only five minutes away, but Lela has given me peace of mind. She has taken over many things that otherwise would be on my plate. We think Lela is great.

Lela was a live-in caregiver for both my parents for six months in 2017, first for my mother, then my father. My mother needed hands-on care, and my father used oxygen. Our family was very pleased with Lela's work, and was particularly happy that Lela helped them get onto a good daily schedule. Lela was always kind and cheerful, and really kept my parents organized. She helped my parents with their medication reminders, did light housekeeping, and prepared meals for them. Lela was exceptionally caring toward my mother, and made sure she was clean and comfortable every day. She went above and beyond what was required and as my mother's condition worsened, she adapted to the situation and met each challenge that arose. Mom died in July 2017 and Lela stayed on through September to assist my father with the adjustments to his new reality. We appreciated everything Lela did for my parents and were happy with the quality of care she gave. We would gladly have her back in the future if the need arose.

Lela provided superb care around the clock for approximately three weeks until my mom's death in March 2016. Lela is a true professional, fluent in many languages, and extremely attentive to every single need of my mother. It was a very challenging time and Lela handled each moment in a way that was truly magnificent. Within a day or so, Lela demonstrated an uncanny ability to know what mom needed. I never had to ask her to do anything, as she was always ahead of me. I feel she developed that ability through years of hard work, and because she is a good person with a strong desire to help others. My mother was 84 years old and recovering from pneumonia. She needed total care, and Lela helped her with everything. They quickly developed a beautiful, trusting relationship. Lela helped my mother get dressed, helped bathe her, and assisted her with her most personal needs. Lela was absolutely wonderful because she had a lot of energy and a great deal of knowledge. She made sure my mother was clean and comfortable every day. Though my mother did not go out, Lela helped transfer her from her bed to the living room, and would keep her company while doing light housekeeping and meal preparation. My mother was not on a special diet, and Lela would prepare whatever my mother felt like eating. Lela also introduced my mother to some foods from her home country of Georgia, and my mother enjoyed them. I visited daily, and saw how happy my mother was when Lela was with her. My whole family considered Lela a godsend -- she was absolutely wonderful with mom. Lela was always compassionate and caring, and was in the room with my sister when my mother took her last breath. Our entire family was touched when Lela came to the funeral home and to the church services, and we are so grateful she was there with us during some very tough times. Without hesitation, I recommend Lela based on the extraordinary and exceptional level of 24/7 care that she provided for my mother. If we needed a caregiver again, we would call Lela immediately and pray that she would be available for us again. She is a very special person and caregiver and my family and I are indebted to Lela for the care and manner in which she provided care for our mom.
