About Me

I came to the United States from Ghana in 2012 and immediately started studying for my Home Health Aide license. I got started in caregiving when I lived with my grandmother in Ghana. I was also a teacher and I love to help people. I cared for my grandmother as she aged, and really loved taking care of those who need help. I am patient, kind, and want to continuously share my knowledge and experience with people. I live to see other people happy, and have applied this theory with the various clients I have cared for. In the past, I had a client that I worked with on an hourly basis, who was very nice to me. This person taught me about Thanksgiving and how to prepare a roasted turkey. I practiced and prepared a turkey for my workplace colleagues, and they were really impressed. Unfortunately, this gentleman relocated, and I no longer provide care for him. My clients are always happy with my caregiving skills. I was also the first in-home care provider to this one woman and we developed a relationship. She says that my caregiving is the standard she holds all others to. I am courteous, respectful, punctual, reliable, and honest. I will tailor conversations and activities according to my clients' wishes. I am serious about my work and want only the best for my clients. When I am not working, I spend time with family.

Recommendations

Georgina was placed in my home through my insurance company as a Monday to Friday, 9 am to 5 pm, in-home support provider. She was employed by a community-based, not-for-profit organization serving people like myself with chronic care needs, and was with me from mid-2017 through June 2019. I am fairly independent and can handle most of my own daily living tasks, but do need assistance from time to time. Georgina was wonderful. She helped me by preparing meals, doing some light housekeeping, and going for walks and errands to the stores. Georgina was reliable and trustworthy. Unfortunately, when I relocated, Georgina has to stop working with me. I recommend her as a caregiver and miss her dearly.

Georgina was my mother's hourly care provider for approximately one year from 2016-2017. My mother was medically fragile, and needed total personal care. Georgina also helped my mother with meal preparation and feeding, medication reminders, light housekeeping, and errands. Georgina followed our family's care plan exactly. Georgina was flexible, cooperative, reliable, and trustworthy. Georgina also communicated well, and would call the doctor on my mother's behalf after clearing it with me. Georgina went above and beyond to ensure that my mother's day went well, and I was very happy with the good relationship she and my mother established. My mother loved Georgina, and I highly recommend her as a caregiver.

- Alfa O., New Jersey

Georgina was my mother's hourly care provider 6 days a week, for approximately 8 hours a day from April 2013 through 2016, when my mother returned to her home country. In the time Georgina worked with my mother, we appreciated Georgina's reliability, punctuality, and trustworthiness. Georgina was also extremely compassionate, and we were touched that Georgina cared for my mother the way she would have cared for a member of her own family. My mother became weaker over time, and needed Georgina's assistance with personal tasks, light housekeeping, and meal preparation. My mother also showed Georgina how to season rice a certain way. My mother was so pleased when Georgina began preparing rice the way she liked it. We recommend Georgina as a private caregiver.
