About Me

I came from Haiti to the United States in 2001 and began my caregiving career after earning my Home Health Aide license. I really enjoy this line of work and I feel very happy when I help people. I always do my best. I'll go beyond the scope of my job to make someone comfortable. My clients and their families seem to appreciate me and feel pleased with the work I do. I'm a bit of a homebody so when I'm not working, I like to cook and do things around the house.

In May 2019, Joseph starting caring for my brother-in-law, who had a brain tumor. In the beginning, my brother-in-law was mobile and somewhat independent. As his condition worsened, my brother-in-law became bedridden and unable to speak. Joseph worked 12-hour shifts and did everything for my brother-in-law. Joseph was very good at his job and we were very pleased with the level of care he provided. My brother-in-law was in an apartment a few blocks away from us, and my wife and I stopped over often. We were both extremely satisfied with how neat and tidy the apartment was, and were touched to see the high quality of care Joseph was giving. I am so glad we brought Joseph in to care for my brother-in-law in the last year of his life and glad Joseph was with him when he passed. I definitely recommend Joseph as a caregiver.

Joseph was my father's aide at an assisted living facility from 2011 until my dad's death in 2016. During those five years, Joseph was never a minute late, never missed a day, and always stayed at the end of his shifts, no matter the time, to ensure my father was ok. My father had dementia and deteriorated daily through those five years. Joseph became such a member of our family that we brought him with us to travel to my father's funeral. While it was easy to take advantage of my father (as many aides did), Joseph always treated my father with unwavering respect. His responsibilities included grooming and feeding, and bringing him to physical therapy, various activities, outside walks, etc. Joseph always went above and beyond any task that was required of him. He was unbelievably responsible, always showing receipts of things he bought for dad, and was always concerned about my father's belongings staying safe. I cannot say enough good things about Joseph. Truly, he was the reason I could sleep at night. I highly recommend this fine man and any family would be so lucky to have him.

I am a private care manager and Joseph has worked with a few of my clients. I've known him for more than 8 years since approximately 2012, starting when I was Director of Resident Services at an assisted living facility. He is a great caregiver. Joseph is trustworthy, diligent, hard working and caring. He worked extensively with my client who is a quadriplegic and he is an expert at using the Hoyer lift. Joseph helped him with technology and made him laugh. He can read people very well and has a nice way of making a dark situation a little lighter. Joseph is fun and social and can be talkative if the situation is right. He is very good at engaging with his patients and encouraging them to do things they should be doing, though they might not want to be doing them. I am very happy to recommend him.
