About Me

I was born and raised in Ghana. In our home, we had a guest space for visiting pastors and for elderly church members who were displaced and needed a place to stay. I would help my parents to care for those visitors and I really found it to be fulfilling. When I came to the United States in 2016, I tried working in retail, but I realized how much I had enjoyed caregiving at home. When I found our that I could do it as a career here, I made that change. I love being there for people, and it's a blessing to do what I love and to get paid for it. I'm very patient, tolerant, and humble, and I think those are important qualities in a caregiver. When I'm not working, I volunteer in the community through my church and I enjoy listening to audio books. I'm a good cook. I cook African meals easily, but can also prepare any cuisine by following a recipe.

Recommendations

My mother has dementia and my father is not really able to care for her, so Michelle lived with my parents on the weekends from Saturday morning until Monday morning for almost two years (2019-2021). She helped mom dress, cut her nails, did the laundry, and reminded her to take her medications. Michelle was a good cook and tried to get my parents outside as often as possible. She's a hard-working person and I do not hesitate to recommend her.

Michelle is an excellent caregiver. She worked for me for about a year in 2019-2020, from Monday through Friday, eight hours a day. She would help me with my daily activities, go grocery shopping, and cook. She is a wonderful cook. Michelle is very warm, cheerful, patient, trustworthy, and an overall lovely human being. She is also receptive to new ideas and is very smart. Michelle really loves being a caregiver and I believe she would be a wonderful caregiver for any family. She makes sure I am comfortable and that my wishes are met, and I'm sure she will do the same for your loved one. I would highly recommend her.
