About Me

I was born in Ghana and was a paramedic in the Scouts. I moved to the United States in 2003 and I earned my home health aide license to start working as a caregiver. I'm empathetic to my clients and I like to take care of people. My clients are calm when I am with them. When I'm not working, I watch television, but I really love to spend my time working.

Martin was instrumental in keeping my dad alive for more than five years. My father had a major stroke in 2005 that resulted in right-side paralysis and aphasia. Martin got to know him so well and in time was able to understand his non-verbal cues to meet his needs. He really cared about my father and didn't treat him like a job. Martin was responsible for every aspect of my father's care. During the height of Covid, he was extremely careful, and stayed without a break for a very long time, so as to minimize dad's exposure to others. When my father was dying, Martin took on extra burdens without complaint. I relied on Martin and trusted my dad's life to him, and without a doubt, he was the best caregiver we had in 16 years.

Martin was a caregiver for my brother for almost two years. My brother had a stroke, needed to use a wheelchair, and was unable to live by himself. Martin is a wonderful person. He is honest, knows how to do his job, and is respectful and humble. It was difficult for my brother to accept that he was disabled, however Martin was able to bring him joy and happiness. They talked a lot, watched television together, and went outside in the summer when they could. Martin was responsible for helping him bathe and dress, and he did the cooking and light housekeeping. He was a great help to me and often kept me calm when I would get frustrated. Martin was always there for us. On a scale of 1 to 10, I would not hesitate to give him a 10.
