About Me

I wanted to study computer science when I was young, but my dad got sick when I was a teenager. I took care of him for six months, 24/7, until he passed. That experience gave me a passion for caring for people. So instead of computer science, I earned my Home Health Aide and Certified Nurse Assistant certifications as well as an Associate's in Nursing. Once I graduated, I immediately started working as a caregiver. When I am working with clients, I hear a lot about life and that has been really meaningful for me. I have experience working in a facility and every patient is different, and I learn from each of them. That enables me to be able to do an even better job when I work with an individual. On my private cases, I really get to know my clients and their families and that means a lot to me. I enjoy both situations. When I'm not working, I like to run outside or go to the gym.

Recommendations

It is a privilege to recommend Darlington, who cared for our father from February 2022 to September 2024. Within that time, not only did he care for our father with profound kindness, respect, and dignity, he also proved himself to be a problem-solver and compassionate companion. dad struggled with Parkinson's disease. As his disease progressed, Darlington kept structure and consistency that allowed our dad to live proudly. With quiet confidence, patience, and a keen sense of awareness, Darlington would gently support him. Along with all the daily tasks required to support dad, no detail was too small to ensure dad was cared for in the best and most dignified way. Darlington's physical strength also allowed our dad to be as active as possible. Due to his innate sense of responsibility and sense of responsibility and attention to detail, Darlington also assumed the role of managing the house. His strength and focus gave dad and us all a sense of serenity during a challenging and emotional time. Over the years, not only did Darlington become an integral cog in dad’s care, but their genuine friendship was infectious to witness. I believe my best recommendation is that although dad has passed, Darlington will not always remain part of our family, but a trusted friend as well.

I am the unit supervisor at an assisted living facility dedicated to people with memory impairments. Darlington has been working as a Certified Nurse Assistant per diem with us for about three years, starting in 2019. He works up to three days each week, depending on our needs and his schedule. Darlington does his job diligently and is a team player. The residents seem to like him and I would love to be able to hire him full time.

Darlington is a gracious, gentle, and professional caregiver who worked for my father from 2019 until his death in March 2020. Dad was in his late 90s and had significant heart disease. When Darlington started, my father needed companionship and help with activities of daily living. By the end of his life, my father was not really able to walk and needed complete care. Darlington worked mostly during the day, but occasionally filled in on the overnight shift. He was always on time and very reliable. Though my father's body was breaking down, his mind was sharp and he and Darlington would talk about the stock market, money, and how to manage it. My father really enjoyed having him around and they had a meaningful relationship. Most of dad's other caregivers were women, and I think he enjoyed having a male caregiver. I lived fairly close by and spent a lot of time with dad and Darlington. I can't say enough good things about Darlington. He was a gentleman and it was clear that he enjoys his work. He has a nice sense of humor and was always kind. I knew that when Darlington was with my father, dad was in good hands and that gave me great peace of mind. I'm happy to be able to recommend Darlington with the highest rating possible.
