About Me

I like working with older people. My dad was disabled from the time I was 8 years old. In the Philippines, I took care of my grandmother and realized I like caregiving so I completed training in the Philippines in home health care. My clients would say that I feel comfortable in this field of work and they trust me wholeheartedly. I am good at reading peoples' moods. I am also good at working with difficult people. In my spare time, I like to read, watch TV, and talk with my son who lives in the Philippines.

Recommendations

This is a recommendation for the best aide ever -- I couldn’t be more enthusiastic than I am about Vilma. She is absolutely everything you would want in an aide. She is warm and compassionate, and she loves to laugh. She is a fast learner and pays attention to detail. She knows how to cook, and how to work with a wheelchair and any other health equipment that may be needed. Also, she is tech savvy with email, texts, and keeping doctor appointments in order. She worked for me in February and March 2020 after I was hospitalized and had an infection. I was truly sorry to see her go, but my recovery was quicker than expected and I no longer needed help.

Vilma is phenomenal. I'm a baby boomer who needed care following surgery in March 2015. Vilma arrived when I came home from the hospital and for 3 weeks, gave me 24/7 care. Now, she helps me 3 days a week. I found that, unlike previous caregivers who did it because it was a job, Vilma really valued me as a person and was there for me. I had a complicated medicine schedule and she was on top of it. She also did cooking, cleaning, and shopping. I can't say enough nice things about her.

Vilma was one of caregivers that we had for my father, and I can tell you that she was by far my favorite. My father was a tough man and we went through a lot of caregivers. Vilma was one of the three that he actually liked and trusted. She did everything for him: helped him get dressed, bathed him, fed him, and cleaned up around the house. She is such a nice woman. When my father was having anxiety and wasn't able to sleep, Vilma would sing to him so he could fall asleep. She is a wonderful woman.
