Irma is a lovely human being and a good soul. She lived with my mother 24/7 from November 2021 until mom's death in June 2022 when she was 95 years old. My mother was in heart failure when Irma moved in. She was mentally sharp but physically weak. Irma took mom's vitals every day and kept meticulous records. She was wonderful taking care of mom's physical needs. My mother had skin tears and Irma knew how to deal with them. She was always gentle. I'm one of three siblings and Irma got to know all of us and brought mom to each of our homes using her own car. Irma also involved mom in her own family and mom got to know Irma's toddler grandchildren via Facetime. Irma's English is not perfect, but she understands everything and makes herself understood. She is a very fast learner. My mother cared a lot about how she looked, and Irma made sure my mother was always dressed nicely and had jewelry on. She loves to laugh and worked to keep mom engaged with the world, even though it was the pandemic and person-to-person interaction was limited. She watched my mother's physical therapy sessions and then was able to assist mom with the exercises and help her build up her strength. Irma knows caregiving. She is a wonderful cook and was mindful of mom's waning appetite. Mom especially loved the soups that Irma made. While Irma is a take-charge kind of person, she was always open to hearing my concerns. She helped with mom's medications and mastered the oxygen tank that mom used at the end of her life. When my mother was hospitalized, Irma took the initiative to visit and to bring food to try to tempt mom to eat. I would absolutely hire Irma again.

Irma was a terrific 24/7 caregiver for my mother-in law for a little more than two years from 2019-2021. I didn't realize how good she was until we had other caregivers to compare her to. My in-laws lived in their own home and after my mother-in-law broke her hip, she needed full-time care. Irma did everything from getting her out of bed in the morning and helping her shower, dress, and toilet to cooking for her and my father-in-law. She did the laundry and even gardened. Irma does not like to sit still and she fills her time productively. My in-laws loved having Irma in their home and my husband and I could not have been happier. I would describe her as honest, loving, kind, and considerate. My mother-in-law died at age 94 while Irma was on a much-deserved vacation. I would not hesitate to call her again. She is the gold standard of caregiving.
