David T.

David is remarkable. As a caregiver, he is reliable, conscientious, empathetic, perceptive, and capable. He wisely and intuitively anticipates needs, and creatively finds solutions. He is safety conscious, and able to adapt to unusual circumstances and client behaviors. He is able to compartmentalize his many activities and commitments such that he's totally "present" in caregiver mode, when that's what he's supposed to be doing. David is kind, and makes every effort to assure that the person he is caring for feels safe, and understood. On top of all this, David is simply a wonderful person and we were very, very fortunate to have him help us during a year of difficult transitions.

David has been an extraordinary presence since the beginning of the years as I've struggled with depression. He is a highly professional person in the care he gives -- he is always punctual, manages medication with great care, and has been helpful in encouraging me to do physical exercise as a means of dealing with depression. He has also been flexible in helping out with a range of household chores when my wife and I have needed extra help. He is a highly skilled person who can do many different kinds of tasks. David had been employed by both my husband and myself as my husband's home health aide beginning July 2012. He worked 12-hour shifts until March 2013 when my husband passed away. David continued his employment working 12-hour night shifts for me. Throughout his employment, he has conducted himself with the highest degree of professionalism, commitment, and dependability, which continued when he worked for me. He is reliable and often arrives at work earlier than his scheduled time. He is energetic which enables him to maintain a hectic work pace throughout the 12-hour shift. He was always responsive to my husband's needs which, at times, required skill and patience when administering care to a 99-year-old who was frail and had a swallowing disorder. As my home health aide, he is alert, attentive, and sensitive to my needs throughout the shift.
