About Me

When I got out of high school, I wanted to be in the medical field. I received my Certified Nursing Assistant license and since then, I have always loved taking care of people. I become very attached to my clients. I treat them like they are my own parents. I'm an honest, dependable, and caring person. I enjoy sitting with clients and having conversations, especially if they love to talk because I love to listen. My clients would say that they accept me as family. My last client said, "I will never find another caregiver like you. You are the best ever. Everybody likes you." When you meet me, you'll see that I am loving, affectionate, caring, and also easy going. I try to put myself in someone else's position so I can better understand what others are going through. That's how I can help them. In my spare time, I like to exercise and go to the casino. I am a good cook and I enjoy cooking.

We were so very blessed to have had Delia, who we call Dee, as the most amazing, caring, and lovable person to take care of my mom for more than three years. She joined our family in February of 2016 and it truly felt like she was part of it from the beginning. We all love her -- from my mom to my grandchildren and everyone in between. Dee started as a caretaker and ended up being my mom’s best friend. She kept my mom safe, kept her pristine and clean, made her happy, and was able to get her out almost every day for lunch or to go to the nail salon or to go shopping. She took care of all her medical needs from going to doctor appointments to picking up prescriptions. As mom's health declined, Dee kept encouraging her to get out of the house even though it became more of a challenge for them both. Dee never complained and we were so lucky to have her. Dee also had a gift of making the whole family feel good. Dee gave me the gift of being able to visit with my mom and allow my mom to keep her dignity. When Dee first started, she was initially hired to help my mom recover from a surgery that went wrong. Then my mom’s COPD and emphysema progressed. She had to help my mom with treatments four times a day. My mom was then diagnosed with lung cancer. She was on hospice for her last 12 days, and Dee is also experienced in hospice care. What a relief that was for us. Dee even came to see my mom during the day on her day off on the weekend she passed away. She was there bedside with us as my mom passed away. We shared tears and hugs and all needed each other. Whoever hires Dee will be very, very lucky. We definitely were -- and my words don’t give her enough praise.

Delia is an excellent caregiver and a wonderful person. She was part of a team that cared for my dad from November 2012-November 2013. He lived in a condo in Florida and I was living in Minnesota, and as he aged, he needed to have full-time help. In the last year of his life, there were four fabulous ladies who were there with him 24/7. They worked well as together and I was impressed with that. Dad thought the world of Delia. She took him to church, out to dinner, and to his club. The team was responsible for going through his mail and for paying his bills. We trusted them completely. I witnessed an excellent example of Delia's caring. My dad had a stroke that lead to his death, and he was taken to the hospital, not conscious. Delia was with him. I arrived at 4 am, and walked in on Delia rubbing his feet with oil. I would use her again in an instant and I recommend her highly.

Delia cared for my aunt for two years from 11/2009 to 11/2012. My aunt lived in Florida and I live in South Carolina, so I only saw her occasionally, but I spoke to my uncle every single night for the past 7 years until his death last month. He spoke highly of Delia and was pleased with the care she gave to his wife. We were both impressed that she kept in touch with our family after my aunt's passing. I know that if you hire Delia, you'll get a person who will take good care of your loved one.
