Maria started working for us in September 2011 and worked for five years at the Convent, which is a retirement and assisted living community for religious sisters. Maria is an outstanding health care aide. She is very skilled in working with the elderly, always respecting their dignity and bringing great sensitivity to their vulnerability. My father was a doctor. In 2009, he was in his 90s and had complications of COPD as well as other complications of old age. He lived with me, but needed an aide. Maria worked a 12-hour shift every day from 2009-2012. We had a number of caregivers, but she really stood out. She was great with the oxygen tank, and was extremely trustworthy and a hard worker. As a person, she is so sweet and caring and very responsible. Maria helped dad with his medications, cooked, and helped with his personal hygiene. I was impressed with Maria's hygiene during food prep. She is a neat and organized person in general. Maria has a heart of gold and I still keep in touch with her. Once, she bought dad earphones as a gift when she noticed he was having trouble listening to the TV. She was always attentive to my father, especially when he was using his walker.
