About Me

When I first came to the United States, my dad got sick back home and I was unable to be there for him. He passed before we got back to the Caribbean. When we got there, his caregiver was giving us details of his final days, and I felt so badly that I wasn't there to be there for him. I wanted to pay it forward in my own way to take care of someone else's loved one. I'm passionate about the elderly and what I do. I can make someone's life easier and make someone feel better. When I go home at the end of the day, I feel a sense of joy knowing I have been able to make a difference. I always want to make sure my client is comfortable. I love being appreciated and knowing that I did my best, and then I feel good, I feel rewarded. I'm trained as a respiratory technician, and I am trained to take care of trach clients. I'm bubbly and I love to have conversations with my clients. I love to laugh with my clients. I'm patient and I know how to deal with people. I like to take my clients out to the park, the movies, or even Broadway plays if they would like that. When I'm not working, I'm with my family. We love to be outdoors, so we're always at the park. I also love to cook, and I'm a pretty good with Caribbean dishes.

Recommendations

I hired Jackie when I was discharged from rehab in 2013 and she worked for me for a week or so after I came home and recuperated. Since then, she's come for three more periods of time when needed, and is scheduled to come back again when I have my second cataract surgery. She comes in during the day and does anything and everything I ask. She is pleasant to be around and easy to talk to. She arrives on time and I never have to worry about her trustworthiness or reliability. I like that Jackie is in tune with what's happening in the world and is efficient in everything she does for me. I'm very pleased with the care she provides, and that's why I keep calling her.

Jackie was a caregiver for my husband for about 2-3 years from 2013-2015. My husband had Alzheimer's and needed help with every aspect of his life. Jackie would come to us during the day and would help him with bathing, cooking, and everything we needed plus more. Jackie is devoted, knowledgeable, professional and very trustworthy. I still keep in touch with her because of what she did for us. I know that whoever hires her will be very fortunate.
