About Me

Caring for people is my passion. My career is in social work and caregiving is very similar. I have a degree from Ghana, and I am currently in school in the United States to receive my Bachelor's in Social Work. I'm very interested in working with mental health clients. I like to help families that need assistance. I get a lot of satisfaction knowing that I can help out the other family members with their loved ones. I'm loving, caring, compassionate, hard-working, and reliable. In my spare time, I enjoy reading and watching sports, especially soccer. I also like watching movies and playing games.

Recommendations

Dorcas lived with my mother in a two-bedroom condo from September 2011 until mom's death in March 2016. Mom would not have lived as long, or as comfortably, without the care that Dorcas gave her. She did a great job every day, and we could not have been happier. My mother was 95 years old and had Alzheimer's. Even when Dorcas first came, my mother was not a big eater, but at the end, Dorcas had to spoon feed her. She never left mom alone. She helped with bathing, dressing, toileting, meds, light housekeeping, and laundry. Dorcas was particularly attentive and was always on top of changes that she noticed. More than once, we were able to catch something at an early stage before it became a serious issue. Dorcas would email me the weekly shopping list, and we also communicated by text and phone. She did everything, and she did it wonderfully. The person who hires Dorcas to take care of a loved one will be very lucky.

I have known Dorcas since June 2016, when she started caring for for my mother part time. My mom is in the early stages of Alzheimer's disease and is becoming more forgetful. Mom needs assistance with hygiene, medication management, keeping the house together, and food preparation. Dorcas comes in a few times a week to help mom and to keep her mentally stimulated. She is a good companion, engaging her in conversation, playing a variety of games and taking her out for fresh air. Dorcas is an upbeat person, which is just great for mom. She has a good spirit and mom adores her. I highly recommend her a s a caregiver -- she is responsible, kind, and efficient.
