About Me

I have a lot of empathy and that is why I picked up caregiving as a profession when I arrived in the United States. It is a blessing when I take care of others, and for me, it is not only about the salary, but also the satisfaction I get when a client appreciates the help I give. As a caregiver, I am jovial, friendly, and respectful of my client and their family. I am very humble at all times. I am punctual and honest. I always make sure I follow the care plan I have been given but I can also be flexible to suit the needs of my client. I provide the best service, and put in my best effort to make my client comfortable and happy at all times. For fun, I love to play Scrabble and pool, and to watch movies. I also like to go sightseeing.

Recommendations

As a care manager, seldom does one come across such a valued and trusted caregiver as Joseph. We worked with Joseph for nearly two years in the care of our client, a 90 year-old gentleman with Parkinson’s, cancer, and various other complex needs who required 24/7 care. Despite the client’s very demanding and difficult personality, Joseph was able to gain the client’s trust and confidence, and he worked tirelessly while caring for our client. Whether ensuring our client followed a critical medication regimen or maintaining safety within the home and driving as needed, he could always be counted on. Joseph put the client’s needs before his own and was always there to assist, not just with the client’s needs as a caregiver, but he essentially became an extension of our clinical staff as our eyes and ears, and boots on the ground, optimizing care as our client’s needs escalated. He is warm, compassionate, hardworking, and patient, with the ability to look ahead and be able to anticipate what was needed even before asked. We were blessed to have Joseph as part of the care team and without him, our client would not have been able to remain living independently in his home as long as he did. I recommend him highly.

I was a healthy young man with two small children when I had a major brain hemorrhage. I was in the hospital and rehab for more than four months and when I came home in December 2013, I was unable to care for myself in any way. Joseph moved in with our family and lived with us for more than a year, and he's the guy who got me through the most challenging thing in my life. Joe kept my catheter clean and helped with dressing and bathing. He cooked and did light housekeeping, and drove me to and from rehab and doctor appointments. He is a good person. He's nice and has a great sense of humor, and it meant a lot to me to be able to laugh during some very difficult times. He was kind to my children, and great with my parents, my in-laws, and our nanny. He fit in well and was easy to get along with. He became part of our family, and even now, years after he stopped working with me, he still calls to check in and see how everyone is doing. He took great pride in helping me recover and I can't express enough how much it meant to have him with me during that year.

Joseph had been my husband's aide for a year and a half in 2016-17 and is a wonderful caregiver. He helped my husband recover from a stroke, which occurred at a young age. From the beginning when he was almost completely bedridden, Joseph helped in his recovery that eventually saw him sitting in a wheelchair for the majority of the day, and now, walking with a cane, speaking much more smoothly, and capable of self care. Joseph is calm and collected, flexible minded, and strong. My husband is 6-foot-tall and weighs 230 lbs. Joesph was able to deal with bad tempers and every kind of physical and mental impairments. He also has been driving to and from physical therapy. My husband's phenomenal improvement has been a team effort, but I truly think he would not have been able to make such a huge recovery without Joseph. We would recommend him unequivocally.
