About Me

I was born and raised in Sierra Leone. I worked as a secretary for a transit company in Guinea, Africa, for more than 2 years and I later went to Holland and started working in the medical field as a caregiver in a hospital for 3 years. In 2011, I became a caregiver in the United States because of my compassion and the fulfillment I get when I take care of people. I always treat my clients the way I want others to care for my parents. My mother taught me the value of giving care. Caring for others is always a blessing. I always help my clients with their daily living needs, when needed. I show them love, and I like to talk to them and listen to their thoughts. I am humble, kind, and honest. I'm also a good listener. I love to smile and have a good time. In addition, I am very hard working, and I perform my responsibilities at the right time. For fun, I love to watch horror movies with my daughter. I also love to cook and clean.

Recommendations

I would highly recommend Amy. During the last couple of years of our mother’s life, Amy was the sole live-in caregiver. It was a difficult period for our mom due to the enormous pain she was experiencing, and the dependency our typically strong independent mother required from others. Amy took on Mom’s challenges with tremendous positivity, compassion, honesty, and thoughtfulness. She accompanied her to doctor appointments, cooked, and helped Mom with her many daily needs, day and night. Always warm, friendly, and extremely patient, she looked after our mom as though she was taking care of her own loving parent. It was a comfort to know she was with her.

Amy joined my mother's caregiver team during her final days. She was nice, calming, reliable, trustworthy, tender and caring. My mother was bedridden and needed help with all her daily needs, from bathing and dressing to most activities. Amy worked Monday to Friday night shifts. We couldn't have managed without Amy.

Amy lived with my aunt for about seven months in 2017. My aunt was elderly and just couldn't live alone anymore, and all of her family members were working and unable to give her the care she needed. We were so lucky to find Amy. She is patient, kind, and generous. She went above and beyond our expectations and my aunt loved her. She drove my aunt to appointments, and helped her with activities of daily living such as showering and cooking. Amy purchased the groceries, did the laundry, and kept my aunt's home neat and clean. I was living close by at the time and visited every week, so I could see for myself that my aunt was happy and safe. We would hire her back if we had the opportunity.

Amy was a live-in caregiver for my mother from April 2014 until her death in March 2017 at age 99. Mom had a heart attack and stroke. She was non-ambulatory and could no longer live alone. Amy came to care for her when she was put on hospice, and mom lived for three more years. I strongly feel that with the special care that she gave my mother, Amy extended her life. Amy's daily tasks included caring for my mother and attending to her dietary needs and hygiene. Amy administered all of her daily medications, kept the house in order, shopped for all of the groceries and helped the nurses and therapists from hospice care when they came for visits. Amy was out of the country at her sister's wedding when mom took a turn for the worse. She left the celebration early and rushed home, and to this day, visits my mother at the cemetery. It was always a pleasure having her taking care of mom and she became part of our family. Amy is a wonderful person and I can't say enough good things about her.
