About Me

I came to the United States from the Ivory Coast more than 20 years ago, and I speak French and English fluently. I became a caregiver because personal care is very important to me. I have styling experience, and I transitioned into personal care because I want my clients to look and feel good with every aspect of their daily living. I studied for my Home Health Aide license and have found caregiving to be fulfilling and rewarding. Nothing pleases me more than to see my clients happy, well-groomed, and involved in their daily lives. For example, there was one client I worked with who really wanted to have in-depth conversations with me. They enjoyed my level of conversation and the companionship I gave to them. I also knew when to give my them their space and when to step in and help them. My clients describe me as one of the nicest people they have ever met. I am kind, patient, reliable, and trustworthy, and will go out of my way to ensure that my client is enjoying their day and the time they are spending with me. There was also another client who lived with her daughter and had trouble ambulating. This client was afraid to walk, and her daughter was a little frustrated. When I worked with the client, I was positive and encouraging, and let her know I was there for her no matter what. Slowly, but surely, we walked not only in the house, but outside as well. At the end of the day, we both felt happy and accomplished, and my client was more confident. When I am not working, I love going shopping and spending time with my family and friends.

Recommendations

I have MS and needed 24/7 live-in care after a medical setback in 2018. Elizabeth came to my home as a short-term caregiver after I was discharged from the hospital and came home from rehab. I live by myself, and initially did not feel strong enough to be alone. Elizabeth helped me with hands-on care (bathing, dressing, grooming), and also assisted in meal preparation and light housekeeping. I found Elizabeth to be patient, kind, and most importantly -- trustworthy. I was very appreciative of Elizabeth's soft-spoken, non-controlling personality, and loved how proactive she was in dealing with situations that arose. I am happy to say that my health has improved and have graduated to hourly care, a few days a week. I miss Elizabeth and would absolutely bring her back if my health changes. I definitely recommend her as private caregiver.

Elizabeth worked with me 12 hours a day for about two years from 2014-2016. I was in a wheelchair and needed help with getting dressed, bathing, meal prep, and feeding. Elizabeth drove me to rehab and was very kind and nice to me. Elizabeth was there to assist me physically and she also supported me emotionally. For example, on days when I would feel sad, I would talk to Elizabeth about my feelings, and we would eat M&M candies while having our conversations. I definitely felt better after speaking with Elizabeth. I trusted Elizabeth 100 percent and considered her reliable as well. Elizabeth also connected with my friends and my family members. Everyone close to me loved Elizabeth, and my grandson was especially crazy about her. I miss Elizabeth and recommend her highly as a caregiver.
