About Me

I was born and raised in the Republic of Georgia, where I was a pharmacist for 22 years. Throughout my career, I ensured that I educated all my patients on the right way to manage their medication. I came to the United States in 2009 and a year later became a caregiver. I have many years of experience working with people and that made me develop an interest in becoming a caregiver here. Also, taking care of my mother back home, contributed to why I developed the passion for this field My mother had a stroke and I took care of her needs such as feeding, bathing, grooming, medication, scheduling her appointments, and accompanying her to medical appointments. As caregivers, we play a big role in our patients' lives and we need to make sure they are always safe and all their needs are met. Being a team player is one large quality I possess. This has helped me to provide care based on the recommendations from my patient's medical provider and then provide my patients with an unmatched quality of care. I always take pride in my work and when my clients are happy, I am happy, too. I am a very positive person and very attentive. I am very loyal, hardworking, and very caring. My hobbies are playing the piano and listening to classical music, and I also love to cook.

Recommendations

We have known Nunu (Nina) for 5 and a half years in the capacity of a nurse assistant/caretaker for our mother, Theda and our father, Philip. Our mother passed away in June 2016 and our father passed away in November 2017. Nina came to us in a recommendation and cared for our mother who had become an invalid after a bacterial infection in the spring of 2012. During her time with us, Nina was an extremely devoted and joyful caretaker to both of our parents. Nina cared for each parent in a customized manner and provided the highest level of care and service, attuned to each of our parents' medical, emotional and physical needs. Nina's dedication went beyond what we ever could have expected. In the four years she took care of our mother, my mother never had a bedsore. In fact, often when my mother would come back from hospitalizations, she would have a bedsore, and Nina's treatment of it eased the pain and allowed it to close up right away. Nina's duties taking care of our mom were many and varied, and she carried them out with tremendous dedication and care. She did physical therapy with our mother everyday, sometimes twice a day. She would encourage our mother to challenge her muscles whenever possible, and had an intuitive sense of when she was too tired to continue. The intuition that Nina brought to the care of each of our parents is one of Nina's most valuable and favorable characteristics. She was always able to anticipate each of our parents' needs, both physical and emotional, and modified her care plan accordingly. If she saw that our mother was positioned in her chair a little different than what she knew was her most comfortable position, Nina would adjust her without being asked. Nina is an incredibly giving, loving, and naturally caring person. Her care extended to my father as well. He didn't have the same needs as my mother, but Nina was always sensitive to what he wanted to eat, when he needed to rest, and how to support him emotionally throughout my mother's illness. She is an integral and loved part of our family. I am quite sure that my mother would not have survived, let alone thrived as well as she did for four years if it weren't for Nina's expert care. My mother always glowed, her nails and hair were always done, teeth always brushed, and she was happy any time Nina was around (which was almost all the time!). In her final four years of life, my mother felt she was tremendously respected and loved. We knew that she was cared for in every aspect of the word. We, her children, could sleep at night because we knew Nina was here. In the seventeen months since our mother died, Nina changed her approach to care solely for our father. She emphasized a program of regular meals, exercise, management of physician and bereavement counselor visits, as well as keeping his spirits high. She was always concerned about his well-being and was very conscientious about arranging for coverage for our father when she took days off. We wholeheartedly recommend Nina as a home health aide and as a certified medical assistant in any capacity within the field she pursues. It is with love and admiration that we let her go from our family to use our skills to provide her extraordinary level of care for others.

Nina cared for my mother from 2010 to May 2012, when I moved my mother out of state. My mother is still alive today in 2018 and she misses Nina. I needed someone to help my mother in her old age with everyday daily tasks. There really wasn't anything physically wrong with my mother, just that she needed extra help. Nina lived with my mother full time and managed the house, cooked, cleaned, made sure she ate on time, and made sure she was taking her medications. Nina was very good at her job and a very responsible person. After all these years, we still love her and thank her for a job well done.
