About Me

I was born and raised in Jamaica. I came to the United States in 1979 and became a caregiver in 1992. I love the fact that my clients get the care and attention they need with me. I am very kind, pleasant, trustworthy, punctual, reliable, and hard working. I'm very positive and always makes my clients my No. 1 priority. I’m always in control of what I'm supposed to do, and I stick to what my client wants and needs. I am very thorough with everything I do. In my spare time, I love to attend church, exercise, and spend time with family.

Debby worked on weekdays from May 2013 to May 2017 as in in-home aide for my father and we could not have been happier with her loving care. My father was quite fond of Debby and she always took such good care of him; not only physically but she lifted his spirits and kept him going by singing to him, praying with him, and making him laugh. My mother and father were married for 65 years and mom had been his caretaker for many of those years, so it was not easy for her to give up control. Dad suffered from Parkinson's and had other issues which made his mobility a problem. Debby came into our lives and managed to win over both my parents and me, and she really became part of our family She has a pleasant demeanor that is balanced perfectly by her sense of dedication to her job. She is an extremely knowledgeable caregiver who was able to offer my father the very best in care. Debby could always be counted on to be on time no matter the weather or circumstances, and we all felt that she was a quality caregiver who understood the depth of her responsibility. We all felt very safe entrusting our beloved father/husband to Debby's professional care. You won't regret hiring Debby as your home health aide or as part of your team.

Debby cared for my mother as a health aide and companion from October 2012 until my mother's death in September 2014. Debby is a wonderful, intelligent person, and is an excellent health aide, caregiver, and companion. Debbie is a compassionate individual who is personable and communicative. She is also extremely conscientious and she was always punctual. Debby is consistently responsible, professional, and skilled. She takes her responsibilities very seriously and consistently goes above and beyond what is expected of her. Her official duties included assisting my mother with all the activities of daily living, making the meals, medications, and general companionship. During the two years that Debby cared for my mother, she increasingly, independently, and uncomplainingly assumed new duties as my mother's health failed. From the outset, my mother used a walker and had serious vision loss. She eventually exclusively used a wheelchair. As my mother's needs for help increased and she became less able to oversee any household responsibilities, Debby was unfailing in her effective and warm personal response as she assumed new responsibilities. She was professional and highly skilled at handling all her health aide responsibilities, such as transferring my mother (who was frail and delicate) from wheelchair to bed, shower, couch, and even for drives in the car. She also became the person who scheduled and took my mother to doctor appointments, brought her shopping (both for food and other necessities, as well as for clothing, outings, etc.), and arranged for appliance, car, and household repairs. She coordinated and handled all aspects of running a household; a job that my mother was no longer able to do. In short, she was the glue that held my mother's life together. Debby consistently went above and beyond the duties assigned and was creative and able to tackle new projects and duties, with intelligence, confidence, and good humor. She remained vigilant regarding my mother's health. She consistently demonstrated excellent judgment as to when an ailment warranted a phone call to the doctor. She was also excellent in an emergency. There were several times that my mother need to go to the hospital, and Debby took all the proper steps in each case, including making that initial assessment, arranging transportation to the hospital, attending to her needs at the hospital, and keeping in touch with our family about the situation. On a personal level, I can say that Debby became like a member of our family and we all miss her.
