About Me

My decision to become a caregiver was influenced by the people around me. Back at home in Ghana, my sister and mother are both nurses. My husband also works in a healthcare facility and that made it easier to get into this career. From the first day I started this line of work, I have not regretted it. I always look forward to seeing my clients every day. I spend time getting to know them to help me provide the best care. As an aide, I help with reminders to take medications, recording of vital signs, including pulse and blood pressure, getting to and from medical and other appointments, food shopping, cooking and meal preparation, bathing, dressing, and grooming. I can do short-term personal assistance after injuries or procedures as well as long-term care for people with Alzheimer's disease and other debilitating conditions and many other responsibilities. This job has taught me a lot. Apart from the diversity, I love the fact that I get to learn from peoples' experiences. Their stories and advice has always helped me grow in so many ways. I am a happy person. I’m outgoing, compassionate, kind, and easy to get along with, and I love being around people around. When I'm off from work, I spend time with family and friends. I like to go to the movies, love to cook, and I enjoy water parks.

Recommendations

Evelyn and I worked at a memory care facility from starting in 2016 to January 2019. I was "second in command" and Evelyn worked as a home health aide. We took care of the residents with Alzheimer's and dementia. There would be about 15 residents at a time who we had to care for. Evelyn provided the residents with daily care. She would clean them, change them, and help with showers and everything else. Evelyn is a hard worker, never slacked off, and always went above and beyond for the residents. Recently, I branched out and started my own private company and I have asked Evelyn to care for some of my clients. Everyone she works with loves her. She's a great caregiver.

Evelyn was a 24/7 caregiver for my mother from 2012-2014, until my mother passed away. Evelyn took care of everything for my mother -- cooking, bathing, dressing, etc. My mother was elderly and declining at the time. Evelyn performed her job very well and took very good care of my mother. We liked Evelyn's personality as well as her hard-working spirit. She did a fine job for my family, and I have no hesitation recommending her to others.
