About Me

I became a caregiver when I participated in a volunteer program for about six months in Canada, where I had to take care of the elderly clients who were both physically and mentally challenged. I enjoyed seeing them happy, especially when they thought there was no hope for them in life. I like putting smiles on people's faces. I am a very jovial, friendly, and caring person. As a caregiver, I pay attention to details. I engage the client a lot. I am very observant and very loyal. I do not like to get things halfway done; I like everything done fully and properly. I am very adaptive, and it's very easy for me to blend into situations. I read and listen to music during my spare time and I also like to go for a run in the park.

Richard was a fill-in caregiver for my father from April-May 2018. My father has dementia and he had been in and out of the hospital. He lives in his own home, but we have a live-in caregiver with him at all times. Richard lived with him for about a month or so and helped him with his meals, taking his medications, monitoring his blood pressure, and doing light housekeeping. Richard is very friendly and nice. He was able to help us out in a pinch when he was supposed to be off, but he actually came back to fill the void, which I really appreciated. He's an easy going guy and my dad enjoyed his company. They would go on walks together and play pool together. I definitely recommend him as a caregiver.

Richard took care of my husband from January 2018-April 2018. My husband is wheelchair bound and he needs assistance with all of his activities of daily living. Richard would help him with showering, dressing, and everything else. Richard is also very knowledgeable about computers and assisted me from time to time. He would do some cleaning and also did the food shopping. Richard is a top notch caregiver. He's very helpful and very neat. It felt like there was a family member in our home when Richard was with us. Even the physical therapist who came to the house complimented Richard on his caregiving skills. My husband had to be brought to the hospital one or two times when Richard was with us because of leg pains, and Richard drove me back and forth because my husband went in the ambulance. Richard was there to lift my spirits because it really threw me for a loop at the time. I would take him back in a heartbeat.

Richard was a caregiver for my father from 2015-2017. My father had early dementia and Alzheimer's. Richard lived with him during that time and helped him with everything. He was also there to make sure my dad was kept safe. Richard took care of his physical needs and also did some cleaning and medication reminders. Richard is a nice person and is soft spoken. He did a very good job with my husband and I know that my dad was comfortable with him. I recommend him highly.
