About Me

I am from Ghana and came to the United States in 1997. I am a caregiver because I love people. I am compassionate and caring and it comes naturally to me. My mother inspired to me to be a caregiver and I really enjoy interacting with clients and helping them with whatever they may need. Some of my past clients have suffered from strokes, and others have had dementia. It touches me to care for them. I have dressed, bathed, fed, and transferred my clients. I have used a Hoyer lift to help transfer them from their bed to their wheelchair, and it gives me great fulfillment to see them ready to start their day. For other clients, I have assisted them with light housekeeping and meal preparation. Whatever my client's situation is, I make sure they are comfortable and safe. My clients would describe me as honest, loyal, and dependable. I show my clients how reliable and trustworthy I am every day that I work with them. I go above and beyond to make sure my clients enjoy the time they spend with me, and want them to know I am there for them no matter what. When I am not working, I cook and spend time with my family.

Recommendations

Diana was our temporary daytime aide and then our overnight aide for my partner with dementia for over 2 months in 2023-2024. She is calm, reliable, and an excellent communicator. Whenever I needed to be away, she would text me a short update on how my partner was doing. Her gentle style was very effective in dealing with someone with dementia. I highly recommend Diana as a home aide.

Diana joined my church in July 2013 and is a dedicated and punctual member to this day (January 2020). She is a very active member, participating in all activities, especially outreach. Diana is very personable, easy to talk to, and thinks before she speaks or acts. She is a hard-working woman, and the church recommends her for every consideration needed.

Diana was an occasional weekend live-in caregiver for my mother from 2017-mid 2019. My mom lived in an assisted living facility but we wanted her to have additional care and we were very pleased with the care she provided. My mother had dementia and used a walker sometimes, and a wheelchair for longer distances. Diana would make sure that they went outside as often as possible. She helped mom with showering, dressing, and eating. My mother seemed to love Diana, and Diana made her happy. If I needed a caregiver again, I would't hesitate to call Diana.

In 2003, my mother had a stroke and was paralyzed on her left side. She was a difficult person and for 10 years, we cycled through caregiver after caregiver, because no one wanted to be around her. Diana started working with mom in 2012 and was with her until she died in August 2019. For seven years, Monday to Friday, Diana was there for us. Mom was in hospice for the last two years, and suffered from vascular dementia during that time. Diana was always caring and lovely and we were so grateful to have her. My father is not the easiest person either, and he would barely allow the aides to do their jobs. The fact that he would allow Diana do wound care on my mom's feet is the highest praise I can imagine. Since mom's death, Diana checks on my 99-year-old father regularly. We are so happy that Diana is still in our lives and highly recommend her as a caregiver.
