About Me

I am from Tbilisi, Georgia, a country where we value traditions and hospitality, and we also deeply respect the elderly and family members. I am from a big family and it is very dear to me to communicate between generations. I became a caregiver in 2014 in the United States. I learn a lot of interesting things from elderly people. Considering this and my medical background as a nurse back in Georgia, they both helped me a great deal when I began working as a caregiver. I get a lot of satisfaction when I help people and make them happy. I have conversations, listen to my clients, and laugh with my clients. I love to encourage my clients to stay positive and be strong. For fun, I love to listen to music. During my free time, I like to take a stroll, read, and watch television -- and also spend time with my friends.

Maka worked for both of my parents for about a year and then when my father passed in November 2019, she continued on to help my mother until August 2020 when she went on hospice. Maka provided care and supervision for my parents, did light housekeeping, cooked meals, and helped with medications. My mother required additional assistance so Maka bathed and dressed her daily, and assisted with eating and hygiene requirements. We found that she performed her duties with respect and professionalism.

We were privileged to have Maka working for my mother for a month, as her caregiver. Maka's responsibilities included cooking, organizing the apartment, attending to laundry, taking mom on walks, helping with her wounds, and taking mom to her many doctor visits. Before employing Maka, my mother had a multitude of health issues and had lost her twin sister three months prior. Sadly, my mother succumbed to her illnesses, losing her will to live. She was 89. Maka is a sweet, caring person and honest, a quality both my mother and I treasured. Maka was very kind to my mother and my mother was quite fond of her. She took great care of my mom.

I truly recommend Maka, who had worked as my mother's live-in caregiver for almost 3 years from January 2015 to August 2017. My mother had advanced dementia with behavioral changes as well as hypertension and diabetes. She was unable to stand, walk, or even move on her own in the last year and a half of her life. She required 24/7 care and looking after a person with such conditions was a very difficult task but Maka handled every step of the way in a true professional and caring manner. Maka is compassionate by nature and is always positive about things. Even during terrible rages of anger that she was subjected to by my mother, she remained calm and in a state of "constant caregiving." As someone who has great devotion to logic and an eye for detail, she has the capacity to remain calm and think logically even during severely distressing times. During the time Maka spent working with my mother, she provided her with much-needed companionship and conversation, medication support, helping with insulin shots, preparing meals, and feeding my mother once she was unable to do it for herself. She also assisted with personal care, laundry, and help around the house. Our family truly believes that because of her eagerness to help, she made my mother's life easier and much more comfortable than it would have been otherwise. Maka became an integral part of our family and we are so sad our time together is over. I fully recommend Maka for a caregiver position as I believe that she is completely capable of providing exceptional care -- both on a physical and emotional level -- by maintaining her professionalism and dignity.
