About Me

I was a caregiver when I arrived in the United States but I realized I wanted to do more and have a positive impact on the lives of others, so I decided to train for my nurse's aide certification. I see this as my first step to becoming a nurse. I am currently taking classes to become an LPN. I have a passion for caregiving. I love this job because I get experience with people from all walks of life with different ailments and situations. I am patient and punctual. I am a good listener, and I pay attention to my clients and tend to their needs. I am very professional in what I do. I am trustworthy and very good at communicating with my client and their family members. I like to keep my work environment clean, as well as my client. I love to read or watch TV when I am not working. I also spend time with my family.

Recommendations

My mother is 96 and until she had a stroke three months ago, was in great health. Myriam has been her overnight caregiver since mom came home from rehab in August 2018, and she is definitely the best of all the caregivers we've had. All of this is new to us and Myriam has helped us a lot. She knows what should be done, and she's very reliable and responsible. I appreciate the patience that she shows mom, and notice that she is very nurturing, gentle, and attentive. Myriam has been with us for about a month and she works an overnight shift, 5 days a week. She helps mom use the commode and is the only caregiver who cleans the commode without my having to ask. She also reminds my mother to take her medicine. We are moving mom to a facility soon and are happy to recommend Myriam as a caregiver.

Myriam took care of my mom from 2016-2017. My mother doesn't speak English, only Creole. Myriam and my mom got along well because Myriam spoke my mother's language. Myriam would cook for my mother and did some cleaning around the house. She would take her out for walks if the weather was nice. She would make my mom happy and keep her company. Myriam is a very good caregiver, and we only stopped using her because we moved my mom to live with my sister in another state.
