About Me

I was a dentist for about 5 years in Ecuador and I became a caregiver in the United States because my degree did not count here. I like older people and I like to work with them. I have a lot of patience. I consider my clients to be my family. I had a great relationship growing up with my grandmother; she was like my mother. I feel comfortable with all of my clients. I can do activities with my clients such as puzzles, games, and playing cards. I'm very friendly and patient. I'm a happy person, and my clients like to be around me. For fun, I like to read and watch TV. I always like to keep myself active, and sometimes I go bicycle riding. I also like to sing and dance.

Recommendations

Miriam took care of my mother from 2015 until my mom's death in May 2019. My mother lived in an independent living facility but I hired Miriam to provide my mother with extra help. My mother is a tough critic, but she really liked Miriam. I'm an RN and my mother was also an RN, so we both knew that Miriam had the right set of skills. Miriam is knowledgeable, dependable, and reliable. I think her greatest asset is her kindness. Miriam worked the night shift a few nights a week and that was probably one of the harder shifts with my mother. My mother would get agitated and confused, and stay awake during those hours. But Miriam was a good, calming influence through some difficult nights. I will never forget that Miriam showed up for work during a terrible snowstorm, when many other caregivers had called out. I recommend Miriam highly and would certainly hire her again.

Miriam worked with mom twice a week for an hour per day in May and June 2018, and then again from September until she died in January 2019. My mother attended a "Day-Away" program at a local hospital and had to be there at 8:30 am. I am a teacher and have to be at work at 7:30 am, so it's just too hectic for me to get my mother up and ready to go to the program. Miriam helps us two mornings a week to get my mom ready. She will do some exercises with her, give her a sponge bath, and do her hair and make up. She will put on her a cute bracelet and earrings and assist her to get out the door to this program. Miriam is very caring and attentive. She's very accommodating and has been a godsend for us in the mornings. She is very caring to my mother and is always punctual. I don't hesitate to recommend Miriam for caregiving work.
